Two to Avoid on DVD: Year One & Revolutionary Road

Year One   - Only the first 10 minutes presented anything of value. After that, it was a very bad redo of  History of the World Part I. Michael Cera‘s deadpane gathering character accounted for just about all the laughs while Jack Black being Jack Black in the Old Country just got old.

Revolutionary Road - Though I like Kate Winslet and Leanardo Decaprio quite a bit, this dreary portrayal of an unhappy couple in the 1950′s made me want to jump not from the story line but the tedious, clock stopping pace and occasional overacting. At about the half way point, I could care less if the family moved to France or Remulac. Mad Men hits on many of the same themes with greater dexterity and punch. Plus, seems like Winslet may be about to be type-cast as a discontented suburban housewife with a penchant for neighborly affairs. (See the superior Little Children ).

Greetings. To start with I would like to say that I genuinely like your webpage, just identified it last week but I’ve been reading it sometimes since then.

I appear to consent with most of your ideas and opinions and this submit is no exception.

Thank you for the wonderful webpage and I hope you hold up the good function. If you do I will carry on to read it.

    Have a very wonderful evening.
