Rick Santorum Misunderstands the Swing Vote

When asked if his staunch conservative views would alienate swing voters in a potential general election, former Pennsylvania Senator and Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum responded, “No, I would rather lose the election than win with the support of couples who demean the very core principal of marriage.” He continued, “Family is the centerpiece of my campaign and those who trample on this institution are responsible not only for their own ills, but for the ills that infect our entire country.”
When the reporter tried to clarify that he was referring to independent voters, and not to married couples that have sex parties with other married couples, Santorum nodded and reiterated that, “Family comes first, regardless of party affiliation.”
