Tennessee state State Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) commented on his personal blog Monday morning likening the Obama Administration’s ”bragging” about the number Affordable Care Act registrants to the Nazis touting how many Jews were shipped to concentration camps. Wrote the Senator (misspelling per the Senator):
Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory sign ups for “train rides” for Jews in the 40s.
I submitted the following response:
Your point was that the Affordable Healthcare Act will lead to the death of millions of people. Appears as though you’re apologizing for the analogy, I guess that’s a good thing particularly since your post was just one week after Holocaust Remembrance Day. But let’s forget for a second just how incredibly insensitive, ignorant and malignant your use of the Holocaust was for the purpose of making a political point; and instead focus on the degree of irresponsibility shown by you in taking a legitimate debate in a direction reserved for an uneducated reprobate, not a member of a legislative body. Suggesting that the federal government wants to intentional kill its citizens does nothing to promote your point of view and renders efforts to improve the law much more difficult.
