Put it on my Tab

The New York Times reports today that “Saudi Arabia is trying to enlist other oil-producing countries to support a provocative idea: if wealthy countries reduce their oil consumption to combat global warming, they should pay compensation to oil producers.” Much rather give money to the Saudi’s than to improve health care or education or help feed the world’s hungry (G-d knows S.A. won’t use it to do that).

Also, am happy to pay weapon manufactures if we have a drop off in war or crime and cancer docs if we find the cure. Would be crazy to ask Saudi Arabia and other OPEC members to invest their profits in next generation sustainable energy ventures in order to sustain their respective economies. That would take planning, strategy and work. It’s much easier to extort money from the rest of world in exchange for saving the earth.
