Fox News Caught Again

doocyBack on the June 5, 2014 broadcast of Between the Synapse Radio, I discussed how certain major news channels present stories based solely upon information provided by bloggers or other purveyors of online information without fact checking and/or seeking a second source. Pundifact recently published an example of this type of journalism by Fox News host Steve Doocy who relied on a the analysis of a single  blogger, who no less writes under a pseudonym, to support the claim that NASA juiced temperatures to bolster support for climate change. However, a variety of experts determined that the blogger’s analysis lacked credibility.

Just another example of result-oriented journalism that damages our ability to engage to anything close to productive debates.
